EXCLUSIVE SKI CHALETS

Focus on Spring Skiing in Val d’Isere

Skiers looking to escape to the snow this spring have an impressive range of spectacular luxury ski chalets to choose from in the Alps, whether for a romantic escape or an intimate gathering of friends and family. But when it comes to resort choice, few destinations have as much to offer as beautiful Val d'Isere.

Let’s not forget, spring is upon us and Easter is fast approaching! As the snow line makes its slow retreat away from the bottom slopes, base-villages and low resorts across the Alps begin to lose out in favour of high-altitude destinations with better coverage and stronger snow records. Val d’Isere has seen a great deal of fresh snow in recent weeks and, at this altitude, conditions are as good or better than anywhere else in the Alps.

Inside the impressive 12-bed chalet Sarire – a fine example of the standard of luxury ski accommodation available in Val d’Isere.

For learners, the gentle terrain around the Madeleine chairlift is the ideal place to perfect those first turns and the ‘ski tranquille’ area is the perfect pace for improvers to master their turns in comfort. Intermediates can sharpen their technique on the many gentle blue pistes throughout the Val d’Isere valley, and even expert skiers will have their work cut out to cover the entirety of the Espace Killy in one week alone.

Snow conditions on the slopes above Val d'Isere at the moment are superb. Spring conditions typically mean skiers can enjoy freshly-bashed corduroy snow in the morning then - as the sun moves across the sky and softens the icy terrain - sit down for long piste-side lunches. There’s no shortage of après ski venues to select from, both on the mountain and down in town, and the generally sunnier March and April weeks are the perfect time to make the most of it.

With regard to accommodation options, Val d’Isere’s reputation precedes it. Small, cozy properties such as the 6-bed chalet Nepenthe are complimented beautifully by larger chalets like the 12-bed Sarire, which works wonderfully well for large groups of friends and family.
