Luxury Ski Chalet of the Week: Chalet Bella Coola

Voted ‘Switzerland's Best Chalet’ in the World Ski Awards last year, the luxury chalet Bella Coola in the Swiss resort of Verbier just oozes sophistication and charm. So if you’re looking for a blow-out luxury ski chalet in one of the most prestigious resorts in the world, here’s the lowdown on what you can expect from this one...

The chalet’s main living area is both vast and deluxe. A veritable treasure-trove of antique furniture and unique touches, this first-floor space just screams apres-ski party. The kitchen and dining area is linked by a bar area onto this double-height reception room, which of course comes complete with a roaring open fire.

 

Chalet Bella Coola has nothing but the latest mod-cons. The whole place is wired for sound and vision with its networked Crestron entertainment system, TVs in each bedroom, another two wall-mounted LCD screens elsewhere, plus a central DVD and music server.

 

The huge master bedroom suite (complete with dressing room, bathroom and private terrace, of course) sits on the top floor of the chalet, while the other bedrooms are spread out across the ground floor. All of these ground floor rooms have en suites and three enjoy direct access to a terrace.

Did we mention the access to the extensive spa here? Oh yes – through grand, Indian-style gates you’ll find a luxurious wellness suite, which guests of the chalet can access by special arrangement. An indoor pool comes as standard, as do spectacular panoramic views of the mountains. There’s also a large hammam and a spacious bar area.

 

If that wasn’t enough, the chalet Bella Coola has toys, sledges, books, games and DVDs. It’s also got a huge garage, ski room with boot warmers and a vaulted wine cellar.
