With April ticking past and summer on its way, winter 2014/15 will soon be at an end. Across the Alps, however, a season’s worth of superb snowfall has left over two or three metres of snow-depth on the peaks in resorts such as Val d’Isere and Courchevel, so there’s still plenty of fun to be had out there on the snow!

Skiing Iceland’s lonely peaks may well be the next big thing on bucket lists for powder loving adventurists everywhere. Iceland’s uncharted northern fjords offer untold opportunities to be ‘The first Briton/person to ever ski that’. How’s that for friendly competition between friends on a ski holiday?
